BYRD, Dorothy Perkins Shrout - Putnam

Greencastle - Dorothy M. Shrout Byrd, 80, died Saturday in the Putnam County Hospital. She was a homemaker and member of the Roachdale Baptist Church. She was born in Hendricks County May 18, 1924, a daughter of Ottie Clint and Mary Lulu Eggers Perkins. She is survived by three sons, James and Richard Shourt and Church Byrd; five daughters, Sue Poynter, Edie Shoemaker, Dena Doan, Tresa Byrd and Tonda Byrd; two sisters, Edith Norton of Crawfordsville and Juanita Long of Roachdale; four brothers, Walter Dewayne of Danville; John and Jim of Roachdale and Donny of Linden and 15 grandchildren. Two brothers, Kenneth and Clyde preceded her in death. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hopkin-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle with Rev. Gene D. Spencer officiating. Interment in Roachdale Cemetery.  ---kbz
